What's Happening At Nestling House: Same Old, Wonderfully Ordinary

Wondering what’s been going on in our mixed-age care rooms at Nestling House? Here’s an excerpt from “The Yellow Room Buzz,” a parent newsletter written by one of our Lead Caregivers, Ms. Janelle.

Apples and pumpkins have made their way into Nestling House over these past couple of weeks! They’ve been enjoyed through art, cooking, sensory experiences, and general play. This week, we will be carving pumpkins and roasting pumpkin seeds! Other than these fun new fall activities, we’ve really just been having wonderfully ordinary days playing outside! Our yard continues to be a place of wonder and experiment, day after day. How inspiring to see what new games the children come up with in the “same old environment” and what new ways they find to play with the “same old toys.” Trucks, crates, and brooms continue to be hot ticket items for the Yellow Room crew.

We’ve also seen a surge in cooperative play among our twos and threes, as “Family” and “Chase” have become popular games. Our infants have added so much joy to our time together outside as they smile and giggle, going between rolling around grabbing at toys on the ground and engaging with their older friends from the laps of their caregivers. The sense of community among the children shines brighter every day. How special for them all to have each other!
